Our adoption process

If you're interested in adopting, the first step is to book a reservation to visit our delightful feline residents. Our friendly Daily Mews team will be there to assist you in finding your purrfect match.

Once you've found the perfect furry companion, we'll kindly ask you to fill out an adoption application and cover a $175 adoption fee. Don't worry; it goes towards supporting our efforts to care for these adorable cats.
As soon as you've completed the necessary steps, we'll list the cat of your choice as pending. We'll then proceed to schedule an interview and set up a take-home date. Typically, the entire process takes about 5-7 days once your application is approved.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you allow same day adoptions?
No, we do not offer same day adoptions. Generally, we set up interviews and take home dates within a week of filling out an adoption application. This allows ample time for our adopters to prepare their homes for their new family member while we process the applications and paperwork.
What does the adoption fee cover?
Our adoption fee covers all of the vet work required prior to your adoption. All of our cats are completely vaccinated, FeLV/FIV negative, spay/neutured, and microchipped.
Do you have any kittens?
The age range of our cats solely depends on our rescue partner and what cats they have at the moment that need homes. We are more likely to have kittens in the spring and summer months.
Where do you get your cats?
We are partnered with Cat Smart Coalition, whose primary rescue mission is Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) of community cats, to help place abandoned cats that they come across during their rescue work.
Can I adopt a cat if I have other pets?
Yes. Your current pets must be spayed/neutered (dogs and cats) and up to date on vaccinations. We will also help you determine whether the personality of the cat that you are interested in adopting would adapt well to other animals. A Daily Mews employee will help you find the right fit for your home by matching you with a cat with a personality that would thrive in a multi-pet home. 
How old do you have to be to adopt? 
Individuals must be 21 years or older to adopt a cat from Daily Mews. 
I am from out of town. Can I adopt from you?
Potential adopters must live within 200 miles of Charlotte, NC.
